Our student Julius' paper “Data-Aware Compression for HPC using Machine Learning” has been accepted at CHEOPS 2022.

We will offer a lecture Parallel Storage Systems and a software project Parallele Systeme in summer semester 2022.

We have been accepted to participate in the Student Cluster Competition at ISC-HPC 2022 together with colleagues from the Scientific Computing group at Universität Hamburg. Our student team “Elbe” consists of members from both universities. You can follow our progress on Twitter.

Our Workshop on Challenges and Opportunities of Efficient and Performant Storage Systems has been accepted at EuroSys 2022. We will again be organizing it together with colleagues from DDN and ENSTA Bretagne.

We have started a blog where we will write about efficient and parallel programming, storage and I/O, and much more.

We will offer a lecture Parallele Programmierung and a seminar Effiziente Programmierung und Ein-/Ausgabe in winter semester 2021/2022.

Our group was busy at ISC-HPC 2021, taking part in a wide range of activities and presenting our work.

On June 24, Michael K. was part of the Spack tutorial. Spack is a package manager for supercomputers and allows installing complex software stacks.

On June 28, Michael K. was part of the birds-of-a-feather session for Spack, where Spack's current state and wishes by users were discussed.

On June 30, Kira presented a poster about our project CoSEMoS, which couples self-describing data formats and storage systems for improved performance and data management possibilities. More information about CoSEMoS is available on our website.

On July 2, Michael B. attended the C3PO workshop and presented our paper “heimdallr: Improving Compile Time Correctness Checking for Message Passing with Rust”. Meanwhile, Michael K. was part of the High Performance Container Workshop and discussed the use of containers in an education context.

Kira gave a talk about our paper “Dissecting Self-Describing Data Formats to Enable Advanced Querying of File Metadata” at SYSTOR 2021. All talks are available on the SYSTOR website.
